Obituary for William Frederick Hancock, Jr.

William Frederick Hancock, Jr., 55, of Jonesboro, Georgia passed away May 18, 2019. He was born on December 8, 1963 in Bronx, New York to William F. Hancock, Sr. and Alfrieda L. Hancock. William recently moved to Jonesboro, Georgia from Mobile, Alabama. He was a devout Christian who loved music, karaoke, and cooking. Also known as "Billy" and “Kashiem” to many, he considered himself “The BBQ King” and was always ready to fire up the grill. William was someone who always helped people in need and proudly served his country in the United States Marines.

William believed once a Marine, always a Marine. He held his life to the higher standard of honor, courage and commitment for his family and friends. William is Semper Fidelis, Latin for “always faithful”. His life was symbolized by the commitment of love he had for his family and friends. William was Ooh-rah, always affirming and expressing enthusiasm for being a Marine. William was Ductus Exemplo, always inspiring others. Once a Marine, always a Marine he stood tall on..."Semper Fi" he would greet people with going and coming.

William also proudly served The City of Mobile for many years as an Officer for Animal Enforcement in which he enjoyed thoroughly working with the community. Prior to that he worked for the Mobile Municipal Airport where he was recognized by The City of Mobile for providing outstanding customer care service always with a smile. William was also an entrepreneur and believed all men should be so he inspired and taught others to do the same.

William was preceded in death by his father in 2005. He is survived by his daughters, Nikkhah Tyler and Isheima Williams; son, William F. Hancock, III; mother, Mrs. Alfrieda L. Hancock; sister, L’Tanya Hancock-Howard; grandchildren, Marquis Tyler, Davion Pleasant, Jaiden Davis, Khari Williams, Omari Williams; Also, left to cherished are his precious three aunts, Aunt Mary J. Ahmed, Aunt Patricia A. Rogers and Aunt Elder Nancy C. Hancock of Brooklyn, New York and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will truly miss him!

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at 1:30 PM sharp. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, GA.
