When a Death Occurs

Handling the death of a loved one is never an easy task. We have put together some of the important information you will need to make the initial decisions, reach out to the appropriate people, and begin the process of designing your loved one's final farewell.

Funeral Etiquette

When attending a visitation or funeral, you might find yourself uncertain of what you should wear, what to say, or what to do. We have put together a short guide to the basics of funeral home etiquette to help you pay your respects with courtesy and consideration.

Cemetery Etiquette

When visiting a cemetery, there are a number of basic rules you should keep in mind in order to show respect to both the living and the dead. These tips will help to keep you out of trouble and make sure you and your fellow visitors enjoy a courteous, peaceful experience.

EULOGY A Eulogy is “a speech or piece of writing that praises someone or something highly, typically for someone who has died.” The purpose of a eulogy is to remember and memorialize a loved one. Eulogies are different than an obituary, which is “a notice of a death, especially in a newspaper, typically including a brief biography of the deceased person.” Obituaries can be read at a funeral service, but a eulogy gives a more in depth glimpse into the deceased life including personal stories and shared memories. Eulogies can be given by family members or close friends.

Understanding Cremation

Cremation is just one step in the commemorative process – an important step in preparing the remains for memorialization. How you continue with the memorialization process is limited only by your imagination.

The checklist we have put together is designed to help you file for your Social Security benefits correctly so that prompt payments may be made.
